How would you describe yourself?
I possess adaptability, complemented by a diverse background, and I am deeply committed to ongoing personal and professional growth. I excel in the face of challenges and enthusiastically embrace opportunities to enhance my expertise and capabilities.
Why did you become a project manager?
I transitioned into the role of a project manager through a deliberate professional evolution. Originating from an information technology background, I initially served as the head of the programming department while concurrently managing various projects. Despite lacking formal academic study in this field, I recognized the value of combining academic knowledge with practical experience. Consequently, I pursued academic study in project management, enhancing my skills and knowledge base. This dual approach allowed me to seamlessly transition into the profession of project management and coordination, where I could apply my newfound expertise effectively.
What do you enjoy most as a project manager?
I enjoy the dynamic nature of project management, where each project presents unique challenges and opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally. Ultimately, witnessing a project come to fruition and observing the positive impact it has on stakeholders is a source of great fulfillment for me in this role.
If you have one tip to give to a new woman project manager, what would you say?
My advice to any new woman project manager is to embrace her unique perspective and leadership style, stay confident in her abilities, maintaining strong organizational skills, and seeking mentorship or support when needed. Always keep in mind that leadership is a journey, so continuously invest in your professional development, adapt to changing environments, and refine your skills to inspire and excel in your role.
Do you have any resources to recommend to a new project manager?
Given how AI is becoming a big part of various industries, I'm really excited to dive deeper into this field. I'm doing this by reading up on it, watching videos on LinkedIn, and joining webinars, especially PMI's sessions about how AI is impacting project management. I genuinely believe it's a trend we should all get into, so I encourage everyone to join the learning.
