How did you become a project manager?

I began my professional journey as a Civil Engineer in South Africa, initially focusing on on-site management for significant construction projects. Along the way, I was fortunate to have a mentor in the industry who provided invaluable guidance, ultimately steering me towards the role of Project Manager. To this day, these mentors continue to play a crucial role in shaping my career. As part of my ongoing commitment to professional growth, I pursued PMP training to enhance and complement my hands-on experience in project delivery.

What do you enjoy most as a project manager?

As a Project Manager, what truly excites me is the opportunity to assemble a team, allocate resources, and foster a collaborative environment to successfully deliver projects, even when faced with challenges. It is during these challenges that we thrive, solving complex issues while keeping the project outcomes at the forefront of our focus

What do you think is the essential skill needed by a project manager?

Clear and active communication is vital for project managers. They need to articulate ideas effectively, engage in active listening, and promote open and transparent communication with both the team and stakeholders
